In Zone Enrolments

This enrolment information is for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents (including Australian citizens). International students should refer to the section International Students for international enrolment information.

All children must be enrolled prior to beginning at Birkenhead Primary School. The enrolment zone is shown below.

To enrol for an in-zone place, you just need to complete the online enrolment form below. We will then arrange for you to provide the following documentation to school:

  • Your child’s Birth Certificate

  • If your child was not born in New Zealand, their current passport is required.

  • Parent’s Passport (If the child has a parent who was not born in NZ and does not speak English as their first language, we require this evidence for ESOL funding)

  • Immunisation record e.g. Plunket book or Medical History

  • Proof of address x 3 - These must be no more than one month old e.g. Phone account, Power account, Gas account, Rental Tenancy Agreement, Rates account, Sale and Purchase Agreement

  • If you are enrolling in advance, we will require you to provide up to date documents closer to your child's start date.

NOTE:   Bank statements are not sufficient as evidence for this purpose.

Out of Zone Enrolments

Enrolment at Birkenhead Primary School is governed by an enrolment scheme to prevent overcrowding.

The Board of Trustees has determined that we are currently not accepting any out-of-zone students for 2024 enrolments.

A ballot for 2025 enrolments will follow the Ministry guidelines, priority system and time frames. Further information regarding this process will be advertised on this page later in the year.
